Your day will begin with a visit to Uyuni's train cemetery where dozens of the transportation machines of old are now laid to rest. The cemetery has become something of a large adult playground, where visitors can climb and explore the rusting husks of old trains. From there the tour continues on to Colchani village, known for its salt processing plants and handicraft shops. After a quick tour of one of the salt facilities you will continue on to the exclusive Palacio de Sal & Spa, the first hotel in the world made completely out of salt. Following the hotel visit, it is on to the great salt flats. Stops include a visit to Los Ojos de Agua where you will witness the pyramid piles that result from manual salt extraction in the area. A hike up cactus covered Inca Wasi (also referred to as Incahuasi or Fish Island) is next. At the island you will marvel at the formations and views created by the centuries old gigantic cacti. Lunch will be served on the shores of the island, after which you will continue onwards to Coquesa where you will visit a cave containing pre-Incan mummies. A surreal sunset will set the scene for the drive back to Uyuni where your tour will end.
